Obituary for Violet Florence Bunkosky (Moore)

Violet Bunkosky of Bow Island, beloved wife of the late Edward Bunkosky, passed away on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013 at the age of 97 years. Violet leaves to cherish her memory her children, Marvin (Liz) Collinge, Tom (Wilma) Collinge, Alfred (Elle) Collinge, Brian (Bridgette) Collinge, Barry Collinge, and Sharon (Perry) Reich; twenty grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two step-sons, Robin (Pat) Bunkosky and Ronnie Bunkosky. Violet was predeceased by her first husband, Kelly Collinge in December 1964; her second husband, Edward Bunkosky in December 1993; her parents, Delbert and Adeline Moore; two granddaughters, Teresa and Debra; five brothers; three sisters; two half-brothers; and son-in-law, David Middleton. Violet was born on January 27th, 1916 in Maple Creek and attended Kinkorth School in the country. She married Kelly Collinge on October 3rd, 1936 in Maple Creek and raised their family on the farm until Kelly passed away. Violet then moved to Maple Creek where she remarried in 1968 to Edward Bunkosky. In 1969 Violet and Edward moved to Redcliff where Violet was a Lifetime Member of the Redcliff Angler’s Club, a 43-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #6, and a 25+ year member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed her yard and fishing at Golden Sheaf Park, her home away from home. Violet loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild and will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by them all.
