Mrs. Leah Cash, beloved wife of Mr. Harold Cash of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, October 20th, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Leah also leaves to cherish her memory four children, Milton (Karen) Cash of Medicine Hat, Myron (Marilyn) Cash of Redcliff, Lorna (Claire) Schattle of Stumplake, Saskatchewan and Arlin (Connie) Cash of Seven Persons; eight grandchildren, Stephen Cash, Mason Cash, Mitchell Cash, Billie-Sue (Richard) De Bruijn, Russell (Marla) Schattle, Blaine Cash, Rachel Cash and Nolan Cash; three great grandchildren, Raef, Winston and Burke De Bruijn; two brothers, Ben (Linda) Friemark and Leonard Friemark; six sisters, Annie (Elmer) Ebel, Emma Perrin, Clara Heebner, Cora (Harvey) Knoblich, Ella Gueldner and Betty Kramer; one brother-in-law, Harvey Cash; one sister-in-law, Pearl (Clem) Prochnau; special friend, Don Andreas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Leah was predeceased by her parents, Emil and Martha Freimark; two sisters, Viola Kirschenman and Julia Serfas; three brothers-in-law, Mervyn Heebner, Herb Gueldner and Elmer Perrin; and brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Verlyn) Cash. Leah was born on April 6th, 1928 in Irvine, Alberta and was raised on the family farm south of Irvine. She was educated at Sentinel School southeast of Irvine. Leah met Harold Cash and they were married on December 25th, 1949 in Medicine Hat. They remained in Medicine Hat until 1952 when Harold was attending University in Edmonton. In 1956, they returned to Medicine Hat, where they raised their family. Leah was very hardworking and volunteered for many organizations. She loved to cook and bake and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, reading and had a close relationship with her Lord. Leah will be remembered as an extraordinary wife, mother and grandmother. Her memory will be cherished forever by all those who knew her. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday, October 28th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Murray Miller officiating.
