Mr. Kenneth "Ken" Walchuk, beloved husband of Mrs. Kay Walchuk of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, May 28th, 2012 at the age of 86 years. Ken also leaves to cherish his memory four children, Dan (Marlene) Walchuk of Coldlake, Alberta, Karen Walchuk (Rod Forsythe) of Redcliff, Viona (Merle) Krause of Medicine Hat and John Walchuk (Fran Anhelher) of Redcliff; daughter-in-law, Marg Walchuk; ten grandchildren, Carrie, Brent, Chris, Nicole, Amber, Brandon, Mariah, Tarren, Jason and Ryan; three great-granddaughters, Avey Kay, Kea and Amara; two sisters, Anne Keith of Ontario and Mary Gadozsa of Manitoba; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Dmytro and Anastasia Wolochatiuk; three sons, Igor Walchuk, Garry Walchuk and Rodney Walchuk; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Walchuk. Ken was born on July 2nd, 1925 at Ethelbert, Manitoba. He married the former Catherena "Kay" Gaetz on May 17th, 1949 in Watson, Saskatchewan where they resided until moving to Medicine Hat in 1959. Ken worked at Ogilvie Flour Mill and Goodyear Canada. He served in the Armed Forces, was a Master Warrant Officer in the Southern Alberta Light Horse Reserve and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Royal Canadian Legion. Ken enjoyed his many trips to Hawaii with Kay, with whom he just celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on May 17th. He will be greatly missed.
