Mr. Garth Perrett of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Natalie Perrett, passed away on Friday, August 16th, 2013 at the age of 88 years. December 13th, 1924 Garth Talbot Perrett was born in Hampton, Ontario to Daisy and William Perrett. He was predeceased by his older sister, Doreen Perrett and is survived by his younger brother, Harold. He is also survived by his daughter, Deanna Marion Rombough; 3 grandchildren, Tracy (Guy) Deschamps, Lisa (Mike) Evans and Grace (Lee) Clayton. He leaves 6 great grandchildren, Sheresa, Ryker, Payten, Elizabeth, Madison and Colton. Garth served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Airforce, he was a member of the motor transport division. He was posted to Dauphin where he met the love of his life, Natalie Marion. He was posted to Suffield in 1945 at the same time he and Natalie were married. Natalie and Garth moved to Alberta in 1945. Garth and Natalie were married for 65 years. They were soul mates, spending every minute together. Once leaving the Airforce, Garth met his friend and longtime business partner, Murray Leonard. They owned and ran the Red Head gas station. Not long after, Murray and Garth formed Leonard and Perrett Transport. For many years they hauled cattle and eventually got into freight hauling. Garth loved animals. He supported many animal charities. He was a family man, always putting his family first. Garth was committed to community and helping anyone one who needed it. He will be greatly missed by his family and was surrounded by them in his final days. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Masterpiece Living, Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Unit 5E and Palliative Care for their excellent care of Garth. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday, August 19th, 2013 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Tuesday, August 20th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Plot at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Garth’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102, 73 - 7th Street SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 1J2 or to the S.P.C.A., 55 Southwest Drive SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 8E8.
