Obituary for Christina "Tina" Hubbs (Schneider)

With love and thanks for a life well lived, Tina Hubbs passed away on February 8, 2018, at the age of 94.
She is survived by her son, Don (Glenda); her daughter, Carol (Myles) Knodel; and two grandsons who she adored, Shaun and Travis. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, in January 2005. Tina was the last remaining sibling of the Schneider and Mutschler families. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Anne Schneider, Delores Mutschler, and Lois Fairbairn; and brother-in-law, Larry Hubbs. She will also be fondly remembered by extended family and friends.
Tina was born and raised in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan and worked alongside her dad in the Post Office in Maple Creek. After marrying Lloyd in 1948, they moved to Medicine Hat, where she was employed at The Darling Dress Shop and Marika's; she was also co-owner of The Lady Fair. She was known as a sharp-dressed, classy lady. Tina was a member of the Moose, IODE, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Honorary Life Member of AMA, as well as many years at the Medicine Hat Curling Club and Elkwater Golf Course. She enjoyed stamp collecting, curling, golfing, camping, playing cards, but most of all spending time with her family.
We take comfort knowing Mom and Dad have been reunited. They were the loves of each other’s lives.
To family and friends who visited her over the years, our many thanks. Our appreciation to the staff of Riverview Nursing Home for their kindness and care of Mom over the past 11 years, as well to Dr. Monty for his care and compassion.
No formal service will be held in keeping with her wishes. A gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date. Flowers are graciously declined. In remembrance of Tina, donations may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, 340A Maple Avenue SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 7L5.

Thank you, Mom and Grandma, for everything. We will love and miss you forever.
