Obituary for Cliff Hindmarch

Cliff Hindmarch
Cliff is survived by his wife, Patti; children, Kara (Tyler), Lindsey (Matt), Kevin (Bailey), Paul and Tami; grandchildren, Troy, Brooklyn, Cayden, Declynn, Athena, Alexander, Knox, Audrey and Elayna; parents, Jim & Audrey; sisters, Loretta (Brice), and Carol (OJO); niece, Michelle (Logan); nephews, Ryan & Robin; great-nephew, Digory; great-niece, Claire; Aunt Marge (Lou). Predeceased by beloved son, Corey.

Cliff was born in Spirit River, Alberta on July 30, 1965 and grew up in the northern Alberta community of Fourth Creek. He was raised on the family’s farm, homesteaded by his Grandfather, Herman James Hindmarch, a widower, pioneering with his two young children. Cliff comes from hardy stock. As a rough and tumble farm kid he caused his parents many moments of alarm and days (well frankly weeks) in the hospital. Crazy accidents and daring feats were the day to day.

Cliff survived his injury prone youth and as a teenager transferred his exuberance to playing sports. His sports career wasn’t without accident but one of the things he often reflected on with fond memories was the fact that he played on the same baseball team as his dad. He was very competitive especially while playing cards and board games.

Cliff married twice and began fatherhood at a very young age. Two families equates to 5 children and 9 grandchildren, a true source of love, joy and pride. And then there was Patti, the love of his life. 30 years can’t be covered in a tiny paragraph but love, faith and Cliff’s commitment to personal growth meant they loved and they lasted.

Always an extraordinarily hard worker, Cliff found his true calling and passion in the past 15 years. As a trainer in various safety disciplines, he loved his work and his students loved him. Which naturally leads to Cliff’s contribution to the broader community. His years in Celebrate Recovery, volunteering in many church groups and schools and as games leader in Awanas. He was a great leader who contributed happily to his community.

52 years is too short. You will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Cliff’s memory may be made to the Central Peace Health Complex, 5010 45 Avenue, Spirit River, Alberta, T0H 3G0, a cause near and dear to his parents (Audrey and Jim Hindmarch).
