Elaine was born on November 18th, 1931 in Swift Current and was raised on the farm 1 mile west of Lac Pelletier (not far from Vesper, Saskatchewan). She was the oldest daughter of Clifford and Marion Paul and attended a one room school house at Bissel School not far from her home. Elaine worked for MacDonald Consolidated as an office clerk until 1955 when she married Armand Unvoas on June 11th. Armand and Elaine farmed 5 miles south of Swift Current on what was known as the MacIntosh Farm for all of their lives until they retired. Elaine loved to travel and they visited France, did a European tour, saw Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti and spent many years wintering in Arizona and Hawaii. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and while in Arizona was involved with the Red Hat Club. Elaine attempted to do some arts and crafts to fill spare time while in Arizona for the winters. She also enjoyed decorating cakes for family and friends. Elaine enjoyed music immensely and took lessons to play an electric piano, she also loved going to dances and parties with family and friends.
