Obituary for Kayleigh Elizabeth Durkin-Smith

Kayleigh Elizabeth Durkin-Smith
It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts we announce the tragic and sudden passing of a beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and auntie, Kayleigh Elizabeth Durkin-Smith, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, April 24th, 2016 at the age of 29 years. She is now a beautiful pain free angel watching over what she called her ‘Walton clan of a family’. Kayleigh will be sadly missed and instilled forever in the hearts of her loving husband and soul mate, Brandon; her daughter, Rylee (Princess); her son, Ryder (Dude Man); her parents, Jamie and Brenda Durkin; her sister and best friend, Nicole and her children, Jack and Olivia; and her grandma, Ethel Hanna. She also leaves to cherish her memory her aunts and uncles, Terri (Dennis) Mann, Julie (David) Herman, Brett Hanna, Mark Hanna, John, Tim, Lee, Mark and Pamela; mother-in-law, Michelle Fortin; grandparents-in-law, Ron and Jackie Smith; brother-in-law, Dustin Smith; her special cousins, Justine (Lily), Jade and Brendan (Huddy and Blakely), Amy and Blair, Brianne and Brady, Anna and Murray (Hope and Gabriel) and Chris (Amy). Kayleigh was predeceased by both her grandpas, Pat Hanna and Joe Durkin; one grandma, Audrey Durkin; and one uncle, Barry. Kayleigh was born on April 17th, 1987 in the early hours of Good Friday. Behind her rough exterior she was a very vibrant, compassionate woman with a heart of gold. In her younger years, up until her passing, her zest for life shone through and always will shine through her two precious babies. Anyone who knew her, knew she loved her children first and foremost and her beloved Brandon. She looked forward to summer each year, as she yearned for the most beautiful garden to plant and watch bloom every year. She was so excited to show us her tulips that popped out last week. Kayleigh will be loved and remembered by those who knew and loved her. God bless our dear Kayleigh until we meet again.
