Condolence: I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Alwyn's kindness, and am grateful to her for her many gifts, not the least of which is my love for teas.

Condolence: To Alwyns' family:
I came home to find that Alwyn had passed away.
I joined the hospital in 1983 and quickly learned that your mom was force to reckon with. She had a sharp mind and a tongue to go with it ....for fools!
She showed up to meetings with her sleepy tea if she thought it was not worth her time and had a small nap. Other tea for other meetings that were in her mind beyond mandatory attendance.
I marvelled how she could get so much lettuce in her little lettuce container for her sandwich and enjoyed watching her fluff it out to finish her sandwich.
She loved to talk about her boys and I learned much about speed skating and the politics of the sport.
As a social worker I worked with her during happy and sad occasions and she had a heart that was as big as an ocean.
On the receiving end of her unit and the services it was your mom who made my son his wand! (and 18 plus years later he still has it). She ran to laundry to find bedding that would make me comfortable. Took charge of my emergency C-section and found people to do procedures that "I don't do enough'.
After retirement when you ran into her she was on the go to somewhere with a bright purposeful attitude (much like she was at MHRH)
She was a very special lady and will be missed by many.

Condolence: My deepest condolences to your family.

I will never forget Alwyn-I was a young doctor on LDR-still wet behind the ears. In those days,on that unit she was always present and available, yet kept a respectful distance; cheerful and humorous yet serious with a keen sense of diligence; strong and independent yet gentle and a builder of what were great medical teams.

I regret that I will be unable to attend the celebration of her life today. She was a dynamo who never stopped giving of her talents and a true leader!! She will be sorely missed.........

Condolence From: The Alspach Family
Condolence: With Love to Patrick, Amelia, Sophia, Lucas and all who are grieving,

Our prayers are showering you all today and in days to come. The passing of your Mom, Granny is so sad and your loss is so great. Our prayers are that you rely on our great and all mighty Lord for the strength that you need in the low moments to come, and that you rejoice with Him when you fondly remember Alwyn with fondness, who was "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Ps. 139:14) and is now assured of an eternal life with God (John 3:16).

Unfortunately we have been unable to cancel our prior commitments for today so we are not able to be there in person for the service. Please know we stand ready to assist in any way possible.....prayers, conversations, listening. You name it.

With love and condolences
Shaun, Leah, Mackenzie and Olivia
