Obituary for Lillian Bennett (Hunter)

Lillian Bennett (Hunter)
With heavy hearts the family announces the passing Lillian Bennett at the age of 84 on September 17th, 2015 with her loving family at her side. Lillian leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Keith, of 65 years; her four children, Linda Keith, Carol (Jim) Hintz, Peggy Wester (Grant Thompson), and Calvin (Michele) Bennett; 14 grandchildren, Mark (Karina) Backer, Dean (Amanda) Ressler, Kristin (Warren) Senft, Jason Reeder (Kari), Aaron Hintz (Chelsea), Carmen Hintz, Derek Hintz (Devon), Bradley Wester (Katie), Stephen Wester (Leslie), Kelly Wester (Larrisa), Shane (Andrea) Bennett, Sharrese Bennett (Adam), Shaun Bennett, and Shayla Bennett; four step-grandchildren, Brittney (Austin) LaBranche, Jared (Jennifer) Thompson, Delman Thompson, and Jenica Thompson; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Hunter (Joan); sister-in-law, Donna Hunter; brother-in-law, Roger (Janice) Bennett; sister-in-law, Lori Bennett; as well as many special nieces and nephews. Lillian was born in Fort Macleod on February 20th, 1931. She attended school in Spring Coulee and Magrath, Alberta. After graduating in 1949, she was employed by the Bank of Montreal in Magrath. On June 17th, 1950, the beautiful young bride married the handsome Keith Bennett. They lived in Arneson and Whitla where Keith was an elevator agent for the Alberta Wheat Pool. In 1952, Keith became a member of the Medicine Hat Police Force. Lillian was part of the Police Wives Association and a mentor and example to all the young Police wives. Lillian was a devoted wife and mother and was willing to follow her husband wherever life took them. Her memory will also be treasured by many very close friends. In the last three years, new friends were made at Chinook Village. Our mom’s full focus in life was family. She lived and breathed the successes and adventures of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to let everyone know what each of us were up to. As a family, we are extremely proud to call this wonderful woman, wife, mom, mother-in-law, Grandma (G-Ma), Great-Grandma, sister, sister-in-law, and of course, friend. We will miss you each and every moment of each and every day. We are blessed to have had you in our lives. We love you, always and forever!
