Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie Cyster, in Medicine Hat from complications of a broken hip, at the age of 96 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, son, Ron; daughters, Norma Mueller (David Gourlay) and Lynn (Jim) Moore; as well as grandson, Aaron Cyster; and her sister, Muriel Snowdon. She will be missed by nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Mom was born in Manitoba and moved to Medicine Hat in 1946 when she married Allan. Connie was predeceased by her parents, John and Florence Snowdon; twin sister, Daisy; brother, Keith; and her loving husband, Allan Cyster. Mom was involved with Girl Guides for many years, was an avid gardener and loved her African Violets. She bowled for many years and loved doing handicrafts. She was a founding member of All Saints’ Anglican Church and a member of ACW. She was a kind woman, always willing to help others. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Connie’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all those that helped Mom over the years at Chinook Village, MHRH (2N and 5W), Masterpiece Southland Meadows and the Carmel Hospice at St. Joseph’s Home. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Friday, September 6th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Gloria Schirok officiating. A private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Connie’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta, 201, 770 – 6th Street SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 4J6 or to AJ’s Loan Cupboard, P.O. Our sympathy to the family on Aunty Connie’s passing. She was the last of their close little group. What fun they had. Lots of memories with the Ganden family. Thinking of you all. She will be missed. Julie@ Murray Rogers @ the Ganden family.
