True Measure of Excellence

The year was 1928. A small group of men met for the purpose of recognizing the outstanding service of funeral firms in each community. These men realized that, without the benefit of personal experience, the general public had no means of determining the reliability of funeral homes. So they established the Order of the Golden Rule.

The International Order of the Golden Rule selects those outstanding funeral homes that have demonstrated their commitment to the funeral profession through dedicated service and a high awareness of the needs of their communities.

The selection process is a difficult one, concentrating on excellent service and the attention given to the needs and desires of the family. The entire process sometimes takes up to six months and not every funeral home qualifies. Once a funeral home is selected for membership to the Order of the Golden Rule, they must continue to provide quality service to retain membership. This assures the public that the International Order of the Golden Rule members are professionals with the highest standard of conduct.

Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel and Crematorium has been honoured with two bronze service awards for its caring and compassionate service.

In Medicine Hat, only one funeral home is a member of this prestigious organization. That funeral home is Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel and Crematorium. We remain committed to provide unsurpassed understanding, respect and service to the people in Medicine Hat and District.
