Obituary for Wilda Lucille Price

The family of Wilda Lucille Price are saddened to announce her passing on Friday, July 30th, 2021 at Carmel Hospice at St. Joseph’s Home. Wilda leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Carson Price and Murray (Theresa) Price; grandchildren, Lauren, Mackenzie (Tristan), and Erin; brothers-in-law, Walter Kriwokon, John (Janet) Teigen, Ian (Terry) Price & Robert Palmer; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; parents, Ben and Opal Schmidt; brothers, Bud (Auli) Schmidt; and sisters, Norma (Art) Dewald and Shirley Kriwokon. Wilda was born in Frontier, SK. She grew up on the family farm at Clayden, SK. After graduating high school she continued her education by obtaining her Nursing degree in 1957 in Medicine Hat. She worked as a nurse in Bermuda for several years before returning to Medicine Hat. Upon her return she met Raymond Price and they were married on Kentucky Derby Day – May 2, 1959. Sons, Carson (1961) and Murray (1967) were born and Wilda continued with her nursing career until 1970 when she became an Artex instructor full-time. Ray and Wilda opened Tri-Chem Hobby Products in 1984 and Wilda continued to operate it after Ray’s passing until late 2020. Both Ray and Wilda travelled extensively while she was with Artex (Switzerland, Brazil, Mexico, Hawaii) and enjoyed 20 to 25 continuous years of summer holidays at Waskesiu Lake, hosting many family friends.
