Wendell Wayne Shakotko of Brooks, Alberta passed away suddenly at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on November 9, 2022 at the age of 73 years. Wendell was born June 8, 1949 in Biggar, Saskatchewan, the son of the late Demitri and Mary (Stuchenko) Shakotko. He is survived by his only daughter, Laurie Falkenham (John Mills), Heckmans Island NS; granddaughters, Amber Falkenham (Jennifer Parks) of New Germany NS, Halee Falkenham (Adam Hebb) of Western Shore, NS; great-grandchildren Rachael, Aidan, and Landen; brother, Larry (Rosalind) Shakotko of Lethbridge AB; sister, Lynn Shakotko of Edmonton AB; Aunt Clara Tarchuk of Banff, AB; as well as many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Heckmans Island Cemetery, Heckmans Island NS. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Brooks Health Centre and Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for their care and support in the final hours of Wendell’s life.
