Obituary for Wayne Harry Gray

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wayne Harry Gray on September 1st, 2022 at the age of 79 years. He leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate of 56 years Beverley, daughter Tara, son Brad (Jessica) and his wonderful grandkids Cameron, Tyler, Storie, and Hudson. He also leaves behind his brother Jerry Gray of Lethbridge, AB and of course his many friends. He is predeceased by his parents Marjorie Lee (Bill) and Harry Gray and his younger brother Lorne Gray. Wayne was born and raised in Lethbridge where he met the love of his life, Beverley. They moved to Medicine Hat in 1972 to raise their children and build a life together. Wayne’s career at the CP Rail spanned 30 years and he was blessed to retire in 1993 at the young age of 50. Wayne was an avid fisherman and golfer throughout his life and was a long time member of the Connaught Golf Course in Medicine Hat. He achieved 15 Holes-In-One after the age of 67 – although he liked to remind everyone that most of these were on an executive golf course! Bev and Wayne spent many adventures together but his favourite was at Duck Lake, Montana where he enjoyed his fifth wheel overlooking the lake, fishing, and watching the sunsets from his boat. He spent the last 10 years as a snowbird in Hemet, California and the summers at Keho Lake socializing, golfing, and travelling alongside Bev and their many friends. He will be missed for his generosity, warmth, and wonderful sense of humour. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Palliative Care Team at St. Joseph’s in Medicine Hat.
