Obituary for Viola Lydia Pinder (Anhorn)

Viola Lydia Pinder, wife of the late Ralph Pinder, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, March 21, 2022 at the age of 89 years. She was the loving mother to Richard Pinder (Michelle) and Shelley Michalkow (David); loving grandmother to Alaina Evans (Rob), Carrah Walter (John), Gillian Pinder, Donovan Nunweiler (Amanda), Averley Van Orman (Warren), Nathan Nunweiler (Megan); loving great-grandmother to Tucker Evans, Tavin Evans, Brody Walter, Beau Walter, Ashton Leverton, Joshua Nunweiler, Kai Nunweiler, Anna Nunweiler, Ally Van Orman, Grace Van Orman, and Steena Nunweiler. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Stefano of Woodland, California and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.S.A. Viola was born to Johan “John” and Lydia Anhorn on July 15, 1932, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The children of John and Lydia included Jacob, Richard, Irene, Vera, Theodore, William, Viola, and Shirley. Only Irene, Theodore “Ted”, William “Bill”, Viola, and Shirley lived to adulthood. Family was everything to Viola. She was surrounded by a big family as a child and by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren all of her life. There was always a party at the Pinder’s house and everyone was welcome. Viola was a wonderful cook and baked delicious desserts. She was a wonderful support to her husband and family. Viola had a deep and abiding faith in her saviour Jesus Christ. She home schooled her children in the Lutheran faith, attended Anglican church with her husband and attended all the functions of her grandchildren in the Catholic Church and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was greatly loved by all her family and is now with her saviour Jesus Christ and united with all those family members who have passed on including her beloved husband, Ralph. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. By Viola’s request a Graveside Service will take place on Saturday March 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Redcliff Cemetery with Dr. David J. Carter officiating.
