Obituary for Victor Jacob Berger

Victor Jacob Berger of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, October 29th, 2021 at the age of 87 years. Victor leaves to cherish his memory his long-term partner, Arlene Carlier and her children, Marcey (Tom) Thompson, Shauna Jobagy (Dwayne Howells), Harley (Shirley) Carlier and five grandchildren; sister, Catherine Tumbach; brothers, Jerome (Lorraine), James (Gail), and Ronald (Barbara); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Victor was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Mary Berger; wife, Adria; brothers, Roy and Frank; and Arlene’s son, Rodney. Victor was born at the family farmhouse south of Sceptre, SK. At an early age he eagerly played a vital role in assisting his parents with farm activities. As an adult, he used his childhood experiences in establishing his own successful farming and ranching enterprise north of Sceptre, SK. Being somewhat isolated in the river hills did not prevent him from being an active contributor to the Sceptre community life. As he moved into retirement in Medicine Hat he enjoyed travelling, trailering, and wintering in Arizona with Arlene. He particularly looked forward to “Happy Hour” with their friends at his oasis in the desert. A Celebration of Victor’s Life will take place in Sceptre, SK in the Spring of 2022.
