Veronica Getz of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Peter Getz, passed away on Monday, February 26th, 2024 at the age of 97 years. Veronica leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Ronald (Sharon) Getz and Allen Getz; daughters, Debra Schafer (Jerry) and Colette (Brad) Kopec; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Veronica was predeceased by her husband, Peter; parents, Michael and Elizabeth Ressler; four brothers; and six sisters. Veronica loved baking, cooking, and playing cards (until 2:00 am). She made the BEST chokecherry jam, cream chicken and dumplings, and chicken noodle soup. Veronica’s family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Care Centre for their amazing compassion. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 1415 Strachan Rd. SE, Medicine Hat, on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
