Obituary for Stephan Devonshire

Stephan Andrew Francis Devonshire left this earthly realm on August 3, 2022 at the age of 49 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Ryan, Matthew, and Andrew; mum and dad, Gwyn and Mick Devonshire; sister, Shirma Rose; niece, Mikyla; nephew, Camden; and will also be fondly remembered by many family and friends around the world. He was predeceased by his infant brother, Glynn Tilney. Stephan was born in Poole, Dorset, England on October 19th, 1972. He travelled in a sky cot aboard an old Hercules to Gibralta at seven weeks of age. This started his life as a “Pads Brat”; first returning to Ripon, North Yorkshire and then Hamelin, Germany, and finally arriving at Ralston, AB at the age of four years. He grew up to be an outdoorsman…attending summer camps wherever they took him, Beavers to Boy Scouts, and Cadets to SALH. Stephan joined the regular forces when his second son was born…pretty fair to say he was “Army Barmy” from a young age. Stephan also loved soccer and rugby. He attended school in Medicine Hat; Rossglen, Alexandra Middle school, and Medicine High School. After high school he was admitted into the drafting program in Lethbridge. His dad, Mick, taught him mechanics and while he was in the Armed Forces he completed his Heavy Duty mechanics. Friends and family fondly called Stephan “fix it” or “fetch it”. He would help anyone in need of assistance with building or mechanical projects. He will be sorely missed. The last few years, “the Covid period” has not been kind to many. Please, in lieu of flowers, take a few moments to reach out to your fellow man in need. Condolences may be sent through www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Stephan Devonshire.
