With great sadness we announce the passing of Richard Wallace Gropp, (Rico/Ric) of Medicine Hat, on Friday, March 29th, 2024 at the age of 64 years. This came after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Swift Current, raised in Webb and later moving to Medicine Hat for his high school years. Ric was always surrounded by a solid group of friends. Ric worked as a carpenter all his life. He took great pride in always doing the job right. Ric was predeceased by his loving parents, Wallace (Wally) and Helen Gropp; nephew, Todd Smyth. Ric leaves to cherish his memory his much-loved Tammy Regner and her family; brother, Dave (Jacquie); sisters, Carol (Doug) and Diane (Brian); nephews, Scott (Heidi) and Shaun (Cheryl); nieces, Lauri Ann (Jason) and Heather (Dan); as well as great nephews and nieces, Josh, Wyatt, Andrew, Shaylin, Paige and Casey. A Graveside Service will be held at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery, 5160 Gershaw Drive SW, Medicine Hat, AB, on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating.
