Obituary for Ray Schindle

Raymond Schindle of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at the age of 86 years. Ray leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mavis; sons, Ron (Marilyn) and Ken (Patty); grandchildren, Stacey (Jon) Boyer, Jay (Tara) Schindle, Chelsey (Jerimy) Chisholm, Tiffany Schindle and Amber Schindle (Matt); great-grandchildren, Kennedy, London, Cole, Max and Cash; brother, Dan (Lorna) Schindle; sister, Janet Schindle-White; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his parents, August and Emma Schindle; brothers, Wayne and Gerald. Ray was born October 17, 1935, raised and educated in Watrous, SK. District. In 1950, he moved to Brandon, MB and married Mavis on September 3, 1955. They settled in Virden for two years, then moved to Burnaby for a year then to Estavan in 1959. In 1960, Schindle & Bazin Oil Construction was formed. In 1971, they moved to Medicine Hat and retired in 1976. However, in 1980, Ray started another company called Raymax Coiled Tubing Co. Ltd. from 1980 to 1988 and then fully retired. In 1988, Ray and Mavis moved to Pender Harbor until 1998 when they returned to Medicine Hat. Ray loved fishing, his Mercedes, bike riding on his recumbent bike, and the company of family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Saturday, May 28th, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:50 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Saturday, May 28th, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. Family and friends are welcome to participate via livestream by logging on to www.saamis.com and joining the live webcast on Ray’s memorial page at the above date and time. A virtual guest book is available on the livestream page for those participating remotely. Private Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
