Obituary for Raymond Timothy Grant

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Timothy Raymond Grant, of Medicine Hat on February 1st, 2023 at the age of 65 years. Tim will be lovingly remembered by his surviving daughter, Amanda MacEachern; dearest grandchild, Rocia Desjurlias; siblings; Rosemary, Honeycomb, Ronald, his twin, Tony and wife, Adele, and their sons, Phillip and Alan; as well as other numerous relatives and friends. Much gratitude is extended to his very good friends, Tracy and Wayne Looker and their daughter, Haile. They were with him since his move to Medicine Hat and his very last breath. Words cannot express what they meant for my dad. Tim will also be dearly missed by his many friends and caregivers at Masterpiece Retirement Home. Tim was predeceased by his dear mom, Rose Grant; brother, Donald Grant; uncle, Albert Hutchins; and Frank Hutchins, and Brownie. Tim was born in Hatzic, BC. He was the youngest of 6 siblings. Tim had a love for travelling, coffee, Saskatchewan Rough Riders, and being his own kind genuine unique person. The places Tim traveled and lived always touched those that were blessed enough to meet and get to know him. At a young age, his car hit a tree and the battery blew up. There was a neighbour across the street, who managed to pull him out. When the ambulance came, he was unrecognizable by his late uncle, Frank, that drove the ambulance that night. With much hard work, he was able to recover enough from his 3rd degree burns and walk again. Later in life, he met Barbara Desjurlias while he was on a fire crew in Fort Smith, NWT. Soon they had their only daughter, Amanda, born in Hinton, Alberta. His daughter, Amanda, and granddaughter, Rocia, were really what brought him the most joy and maybe his life's work. Tim made the conscious effort to raise his daughter differently than how he was brought up. Tim and his daughter would often move but always come back to Mission, BC to be close to his mom. In later years, he settled in Medicine Hat and retired at Masterpiece Retirement Home. He enjoyed going for coffee at Timmy’s and visiting. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff for their care and compassion at Masterpiece. Tim asked for his ashes to be laid to rest at his daughter's place at Beautiful Lake in the Yukon.
