Obituary for Randell Metro Purych

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Randy Purych in Medicine Hat, Alberta on April 3rd, 2021 at the age of 60 years. Randy is survived by his son, Nathan (Nicole) Purych; stepdaughter, Leigh-Ann Corris; granddaughter, Faith Purych; mom, Anna Purych; stepfather, Mike Yasinchuk; sisters, Carol (Ernie) Bespoyasny, Lynn Purych, Twyla and Deneen Yasinchuk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Randy was born in Hinton, AB, and raised in Prince George, BC. As a young adult he relocated to Fort St. John, BC working in the oilfield. Later, he moved to Williams Lake working as a cook/chef, then, in 1996, he relocated to Medicine Hat AB working in oilfield and construction. Randy enjoyed golfing, playing poker with his friends (he had many), music, fishing, camping, cooking, and social gatherings. He loved hanging out with his friends and is home was their home and his door was always open. Randy was predeceased by his father, Metro Purych; siblings, Pam and Rocky Purych; brothers-in-law, Gordon Herbst and Kenneth Okimaw; nephew, Matthew Yasinchuk; niece, baby Jodi Purych; and grandparents, Caroline and Art Boles. The funeral service will take place at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB on Thursday April 15, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions attendance is by family invitation only. Family and friends are welcome to participate via livestream by logging on to www.saamis.com and joining the live webcast on Randy’s memorial page on the above date at 12:50 pm that day.
