Ralph William Immel, born October 17, 1926, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the age of 95 years. Beloved husband of Ann Immel, he leaves to cherish his memory his four children, Renee Nowicki, Rod (Bonnie) Immel, Michelle (Jack) Ward, Warren (Deanna) Immel; eleven grandchildren, Matt (Jenny) Ward, Clayton (Natalie) Ward, Ryan (Artemis) Immel, Kristen (Jeremy) McLean, Shawn Immel, Kyle (Kim) Nowicki, Leslie Nowicki, Lacey Nowicki, Travis (Natasha Born) Immel, Brandon Immel, Riley Immel; as well as nine great grandchildren; his sister, Kay Riel; and Ann's sister, Dianne Schmaltz. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Immel and Sybilla Stuckey; and his sister, Ann Sullivan. Ralph was born in Mendham, Saskatchewan. He married Ann Greenwald on October 29, 1951. Ralph was a teacher and taught in a one-room schoolhouse for six years before moving to Redcliff in 1955. He taught at St. Mary's Jr High for a number of years and then taught English at McCoy High School, retiring in 1979. Ralph was an avid gardener. He loved to grow peppers and tomatoes and spent countless hours tending to his plants. Fishing was also a passion for him, but he always put his family first before any of his wants and needs. Ralph and Ann moved to Medicine Hat in 1998 and have resided at the Wellington for the last few years. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, #1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Thursday, August 18th, 2022 at 7:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Rd SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1B 4V3.
