Obituary for Naomi McCracken (Schaufele)

Mrs. Naomi R. V. McCracken passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, in Medicine Hat, at the age of 84 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy McCracken. Naomi leaves to cherish her daughter, Marcella (Larry) Morisseau; son, Broderick (Nancy); grandchildren, Alisha (Ryan) Henderson, Cameron (Amourin) Morisseau, Dalton (Abby), Tess and Kyra McCracken; great-grandchildren, Emma, Kaiden and Oliver; sister, Isabel Stripling; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Naomi was predeceased by husband, Roy; by son, Robin; parents, Ottilia and Fredrick Schaufele; siblings, Emanuel, Leonard, and Lenora. Naomi was born in Medicine Hat on July 6, 1937. She received her primary education in Schuler, then later on, at Alexandra School. Naomi was first employed at Medicine Hat Greenhouses, working in the mums and roses. In Medicine Hat she met and then married Roy in 1955. During their 58 years together they enjoyed camping, fishing, the Horticultural Society, and playing cards. Naomi was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church for 70 years, and was very active with the church choir. In 1971, Roy and Naomi started Roy McCracken Plumbing and Heating. During this time Naomi was also busy baking, gardening, quilting, and volunteering. She was a cheerleader for all her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities. Naomi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and Gigi. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. The Funeral Service will take place at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 758 8th Street SE, Medicine Hat, on Thursday, December 30th, 2021, at 2:00 pm. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions attendance is by invitation only. A private interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to participate via livestream on youtube.com and searching St. Peter Lutheran Church Medicine Hat at 1:50 pm.
