Miss Michelle Dawn Stromsmoe of Medicine Hat, beloved daughter of Margaret Stromsmoe and the late Charles Stromsmoe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30th, 2020, with her mom and best friend, Kathy holding her hands, at the age of 58 years. Michelle also leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Joanne (Bruce) Sanford of Great Falls, Montana; brothers, Guy (Pam Gress) Stromsmoe of Medicine Hat and Morgan (Janet) Stromsmoe of Hanna, Alberta; three nieces, Stacey (Robin) Poirier; Ksenia and Alexi Stromsmoe; great niece, Logan Poirier; great nephew, Rylan Poirier; and many extended family. Michelle was predeceased by her father, Charles Stromsmoe and stepfather, Don Hansen. Michelle was born on April 19, 1961, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She graduated from high school in Calgary, Alberta and then returned to Medicine Hat. At 18 years of age, Michelle was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. She accepted this adversity head-on and worked at various jobs throughout her life, including her mother’s restaurant in Manyberrries for two years. She lived in her own home until January 2018 when she moved to Masterpiece Southland Meadows. Three weeks ago, she was transferred to Good Samaritan Society where she passed away. Many thanks to both homes for the excellent care that she had. A celebration of Michelle’s life will be announced at a later date.
