Obituary for Marjorie Georgette McIntyre (Wells)

Born in Tompkins, Saskatchewan on September 26, 1942 to Minnie and Guy Wells. Marj passed away peacefully on December 3rd, 2019 surrounded by her family. Marj is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Wells, and her parents. She is survived by her husband, William (Scotty) McIntyre of 57 years, daughter Carolyn (Paul), son Robert (Debbie), grandchildren Tarryn, Brayden (Havyn), Taylor (Shay), Shyla (Blake), six great grandchildren, and sisters Anita Deezar and Barbara McGregor. Marj lived on the Wells family farm north of Tompkins, until she married Bill and moved to town. Marj spent most of her life in Tompkins, along with a couple of moves including Prelate and Climax, until she moved to Medicine Hat in 2017 to be closer to family. While she lived in Tompkins, she was an active community member supporting the hall, curling and skating rinks. In addition, Marj had a love for all types of sports but everyone knew that curling was her obsession. In the summer she was an avid golfer and, in the winter, spent many hours at the curling rink, both on the ice and in the stands watching the game.
Another passion Marj acquired was quilting. She came to it naturally having learned how to crochet, knit and sew from her mother. Marj enjoyed many quilting get togethers, creating beautiful quilts and many other treasures, including the giant Christmas stocking for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marj continued many activities throughout her life but most of all enjoyed spending time with family, but everyone knew better than to come for a visit or call during a curling game. Memorial Services will be held, at a later date, in Tompkins, SK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Tompkins Community Center, Box 247, Tompkins, SK S0N 2S0.
