Obituary for Lori Jans

It is with heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye to a loving Wife, Mom, and devoted Grandma. Lori left us suddenly on December 22, 2023 but forever will remain in our hearts and memories. She loved her family fiercely and made sure that holidays were a special occasion and a reason for the family to come together. Lori loved her community, her school bus kids, and her ducks. Many years of her life were dedicated to 4H as a member, leader, and volunteer. She worked for the Curling Club in Medicine Hat, had a successful children’s consignment store called Stuff for Kids and upon moving to Schuler, started the Schuler Corner Store with Dale. Lori loved the community of Schuler and became involved in the Community Association, helping on various committees for events and anniversaries, and never missed the bike parades. Lori drove school bus and loved her school bus kids as her own, she helped them with homework, and attended their extra curricular events, graduations and even weddings. Schuler school and its students held a special place in her heart and she wasn’t planning on retiring until the end of June. Lori worked over 20 years as a gate attendant with the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede and loved her summer gig. Most recently, she and a neighbor opened Pebblers Kitchen at the rink and she loved her time there being able to cook and allow a place for the community to gather. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and was their biggest cheerleader, the calendar was filled with all of the kids activities, having time with them was important and she wanted to be there to support them, she was so proud of their achievements. Whether it was crafts, baking, cooking, puzzles, sleepovers or playing dress up, Grandma made it special. Family was everything to Lori. Easter egg hunts, the wonderful Thanksgiving meals and the Christmas village complete with each Grandchild’s individual handmade penguin that hung on the wall. We can only hope she knows all of it meant as much to us as it did to her. Lori made beautiful quilts, many that were donated to the hospital and other organizations. Spending time on the lake in the boat, fishing and camping brought a smile to her face and having the kids and grandkids join were even better. Lori and Dale loved their flowers and garden and always had a project on the go. Lori is cherished by her husband, Dale; daughter, Adele Hider, and her children, Eve and Gus; son, Chad (Jessica) Johnson, and their daughter, Shyra; daughter, Jolene (Trevor) Warburton, and their children, Tenley and Tripp; son, Bryce (Laura) Jans, and their children, Kyptan, Kaelyn, and Kolt; daughter, Naomi (Barry) Jensen; son, Gerritt (Ashley) Jans, and their children, Masen and Emeree; parents, Paul and Dorothy Noga; siblings, Tim (Amanda) Noga, Dan (Deb) Noga, Allen (Pat) Noga, Ron (Lynn) Noga, Marilyn Noga (Marj) and their families. And now, these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
