Lavene Surina of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late John Surina, passed away on Sunday, February 5th, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Lavene leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Linda Surina-Parsons (Hiram); son, Perry Surina; grandson, Hiram Timothy Parsons; and brother, Henry Kundert (Kay). Lavene was predeceased by her husband, John Surina; parents, John and Ella Kundert; sons, Timothy and Greg Surina; brothers, Albert, Emil, and Eddie Kundert; and sister, Tena Friesz. Lavene was an excellent cook especially of German food. She also excelled at gardening and had a green thumb and an incredible garden. She was the life of the party and had an amazing singing voice. Lavene loved to travel and was a shopaholic when she went to the States. She also enjoyed playing bingo with her sister, Tina. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE Medicine Hat, AB, on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm, prior to the Funeral Service. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. Interment will follow at HILLSIDE CEMETERY.
