Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, James Royce “Jim” Buscholl. Jim passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with his family by his side on July 4th, 2020 at the age of 89 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 67 years, Mary; daughter, Audrey; sons, Ray (Cindy), Ron (Lydia), and Russel (Kim); daughter-in-law, Carol; eight grandchildren, Brayden, Jarrett, Tanya, Haley (Nate), Rianna (Karsten), Josh, Evan, Samantha (Braden); great-grandson, Eric; sister, Rose Hammel; as well as many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary Ann Buscholl (nee Schmaltz); sons, Joseph (at childbirth) and Roy (2016); siblings, Mary, Elizabeth (Wendlin) Steier, Frank, Chris (Margaret); and brother-in-law, Martin Hammel. Jim was born November 19th, 1930, the youngest child to Frank and Mary Ann Buscholl on the farm at Sceptre, SK. He took over the family farm when he married Mary in October of 1952. Jim was born to be a farmer and he loved every minute of his years on the farm. Jim and Mary retired in Medicine Hat in 1993. During his lifetime, Jim’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He could always be found at the kitchen table with a deck of cards at the ready. Many wonderful memories were made around that table by both family and friends. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Tuesday, July 7th , 2020. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Wednesday, July 8th, 2020 with Fr. Vijaya Bathineni, Celebrant. Mary: So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I’ll always remember his smile, his quite demeanour. Always enjoyed having you both come to our church breakfasts, visiting & Jim often coming out with a humorous German expression! We will miss him. I will miss him. Both of you & your family are being remembered in my prayers 🙏🙏 Jim: May you Rest In Peace.
