Isabel Liske of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Victor Liske, passed away on Sunday, February 19th, 2023 at the age of 96 years. Isabel leaves to cherish her memory her children, Vic (Sandy) Liske and Doris (Robert) Volk; grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Liske, Jennifer Bilodeau, Amy (Scott) Makepeace, Terry Volk, and Cody Liske; great-grandchildren, Cooper Grisak, Kelsey Lafont, Emily Volk, Alyssa Makepeace, Jordan Volk, Sophia Makepeace, Brooklyn and Bowen Bilodeau and Devyn, Lauryn, Kaylee, and Maya Liske; great-great grandchildren, Maddox Volk and Sofiya Lafont; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Isabel was predeceased by her husband, Victor; parents, Joseph and Sofiah Cacko; brothers, José, Henrique, Bruno and Emilio; and sisters, Emilia, Appolonia, and Eugenia. Isabel lived a long, full life and was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared very deeply for her family and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She kept her family in Brazil in her thoughts and made sure to reach out to them and kept close relationships with them all, holding them close in heart. Everything Isabel did, she did with love and as such she will be fondly remembered and deeply missed for her “green thumb” and love of gardening; her love of nature, in particular, animals, sunrises and sunsets; her amazing ardour for cooking delicious meals and desserts that she served everyone with love; her enthusiastic dancing; as well as her contagious laughter. Isabel faithfully believed in Angels and found comfort in knowing that they were watching over her and her loved ones. The family are forever grateful to the nurses and support staff at Meadowlands and St. Joseph’s Home for the care and support provided to Isabel in her last years. For those wishing to honour Isabel’s life and family, the Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Monday, February 27th, 2023 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. A private family interment will follow at SAAMIS PRAIRIE VIEW CEMETERY.
