Gloria Ann Ebelher was born December 28th, 1950, and she passed away on November 11th, 2020. She was pre-deceased by her husband Max who was the love of her life. She is survived by her daughter Maxine (Pat) Volk; son, Lyle (Tammie) Ebelher; grandchildren, Melissa (Tyler) Brown, Matthew (Alyssa) Volk, Alicia (Tyler) Johnston, Temara Ebelher and Clayton Ebelher; great-grandchildren, Richard Volk and Mia Brown. Gloria will be fondly remembered for her love of music, especially country and old time 50’s rock and roll. During their years, Gloria and Max enjoyed traveling from coast to coast in Canada and the United States on many bus trips where they met many great friends along the way. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Hawaii and Disneyland. Gloria always looked forward to going out for lunch with her cousins and friends that she met while working at Zellers. She also enjoyed meeting with friends at the local farmer’s market where she was able to listen to the music while visiting. Camping, cooking and gardening were also activities that Gloria greatly enjoyed. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she cherished and enjoyed all the time she was able to spend with them – which was blessed and abundant. Each of her grandchildren have many great memories that they will remember her by. These memories include:

I remember spending many days with gramma during my childhood. We went camping in Cypress Hills, and she always had the crunchy orange Cheetos with her. Gramma would always let me eat as much junk food as I ever possibly wanted. I also remember making delicious cherry pie with her one time when she came to visit me. She wrote the recipe for me in her handwriting, and I will save that recipe forever. I’m happy my gramma got to see me get married and meet my daughter Mia. Her favourite color was purple and now purple reminds me of her. I will miss calling and messaging her just for quick chats.

I remember all the sleepovers that I had with Grandma and Grandpa Ebelher at the Liebenthal Farm.

I remember spending as much time at Grandma and Grandpa Ebelher’s house as I did at my own house. We would craft and finger paint when I was young. When I got older, we would ride horses, quads and dirt bikes across the field to Grandma’s house. She always had her delicious pumpkin cake or rhubarb kuchen waiting for us. I also remember all the fun that we had when Gramma and I went to visit Melissa and Tyler in Kelowna. Most recently, I remember seeing so much joy on Grandma’s face when we danced together on my wedding day this past summer.

I remember spending time in the kitchen with grandma making pickles and kuchen. I also remember dying easter eggs at her place every year. When it was close to Christmas, we would go to grandma’s house and we would snoop under the Christmas tree trying to guess what she got us for Christmas. Every year we would beg to open one gift early, and every year she would let us open a few.

I remember spending time with grandma while we made pickles and stuffed the jars full of cucumbers. I also remember the many one on one visits that I had with grandma, and I remember helping to take care of her when her health started to decline. When I was at grandma’s house, I would help maintain the yard by cutting and watering the grass. Grandma always appreciated having green grass outside her house to look at.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, November 17th, 2020 with Major Murray Jaster officiating.
