Obituary for Frances Annie Morley (Kusler)

1928 ~ Frances Morley ~ 2020
Surrounded by her family`s love, Frances Anne Morley (nee Kusler), beloved wife
of the late Donald Morley (2004) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November
15, 2020 at the age of 92 years. Frances was born in Medicine Hat on August 17, 1928, the youngest of six children to Caroline and Henry Kusler. She grew up on the family farm in the Graburn area. Frances finished high school at St. Theresa`s Academy in Medicine Hat and then attended Garbutt’s Business College. Frances was employed with PFRA where she met her life long partner. On September 12, 1953 she married Donald Morley and together they raised their three children on the corner of fifth and division. Their home was always filled with love, laughter and good food. Frances was a great cook, famous for her pies, buns and kuchen. No one left their home hungry and the door was always open, especially for their children’s friends. After Donald’s passing, Frances moved into the Wellington, where she met many special friends and created a wonderful family there. In her new home she blossomed, becoming a well respected and integral member of the Wellington community. As a member of the social committee, Frances worked hard to raise funds for various projects at the Wellington. The staff at the Wellington treated Frances so well and it was her home for 12 wonderful years.
When mobility became difficult, Frances moved to Good Samaritans where she got to know so many wonderful staff that helped her daily. They became her family too. During this difficult time they made her laugh and took such good care of her, for that her family is deeply thankful. Fifth Avenue Memorial United Church and her faith have always been very important to her. The members of Unit #5 were a big part of her life and many became life long friends. Frances will be remembered for her wonderful smile, her kind and caring way, and for being a good listener. She never complained and never wanted to be the center of attention, she was always so humble. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Donna (Brian) Schneider, Michael Morley (Norma Hodgson) and Jim (Elisabeth) Morley; her 7 grandchildren, (Lindy (Darrell Archibald) Schneider, Janay (Kyrk) Stenberg, Rylan (Amy) Schneider, Logan Morley, Braden (Leah) Morley, Amanda Morley (Gord), Derek Morley (Val); five great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Rachel Kusler as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Morley; parents, Caroline and Henry Kusler; four brothers, Eugene Kusler, Art Kusler, George Kusler, and Beny Kusler; sister, Ruth Krausz; daughter-in-law, Val Morley; sister-in- law’s, Doris Williams, Louise Kusler, Marge Kusler and Florence Kusler.
