Esther Hilda Krause passed away on August 21, 2021, at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 64 years, Emil Krause; and their children, Ricky (Vicky) and their children Amy and Daniel, Timothy (Elaine) and their children, Andrew and Emily, Lori (Thad) Karwandy and their children, Lois and Cordell, and David (Karen) and their children, Keaton, Jayda and Jenna. Esther was predeceased by her parents, John and Rosina Kruger; her sister, Irene Arndt; her brother and sister-in-law, Emil and Rose Kruger; and her nephew, Bobby. Esther was born on May 4, 1934, and raised on a farm near Hilda, Alberta. She married Emil Krause, a Lutheran pastor, in 1957 and together they raised their four children. Over the course of her life, she made an impact on many people whether through assisting with the ministry or teaching. She accepted many kinds of teaching assignments in various schools in the places she lived. She was a kind and loving woman who took great pride and interest in her children and grandchildren. She worked hard, in close partnership with her husband wherever their journeys took them. Her talents at the piano/organ were warmly welcomed in his parishes, as was her natural ability to lead. She organized Sunday Schools, directed Bible Studies, and was president of the ladies’ group for many years. She will be greatly missed but her legacy of patience, excellence and compassion will continue to inspire her family and all those who knew and loved her. She passed through this life with grace and dignity and we honour her memory as she now walks in the Light with those who have gone before her. The Funeral Service will be held at VICTORY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2793 Southview Drive SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1B 2H1 on Friday, August 27th, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Roland Weisbrot and Pastor James Bredeson officiating. . Family and friends are welcome to participate via livestream by logging in to www.victorylutheran.ca and joining the webcast through the livestream tab at the above date and time. A private family interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that those attending the funeral service wear a non-medical face mask.
