Obituary for Diane Carmen Marie Leckie (Pellerin)

Diane Carmen Leckie of Medicine Hat, AB, passed away on Friday, November 12th, 2021 at the age of 69 years. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Kenneth; children, Kendall (Billie Jane) Leckie and children Damian, Easton, Bryson, Aspen, and Skylan; Chad Leckie; and Curtis (Leann) Leckie and children, Kase, Dashiel, Toryn, and Morrison; sister, Suzanne (Robert) Forget; brother, Richard (Darlene) Pellerin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her parents, Claude Pellerin and Fernande Chouinard; sister, Marie Pellerin, as well as her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen and Ian Leckie. Diane was born on July 15, 1952 in Sudbury, Ontario. Diane and Kenneth were married on October 5th, 1974 and thereafter they started their family and welcomed three sons. She was a naturally warm and affectionate person and people were drawn to her. She made time for everyone and welcomed everyone to be part of the family. She provided unconditional support and love for her sons and their friends, who lovingly referred to her as “Mom”. She was proud of all her children and grandchildren and she relished the time that she spent with them. Diane was also a lady of many talents. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, flowers, shopping, and cooking for her family. Her favourite time of year was Christmas. She was delighted in creating the most magnificent ornamental displays. She was loved by all those who came to know her, and she will be deeply missed. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 at 11:00 am with Fr. Iqbal Khurshid, Celebrant. Interment will follow at SAAMIS PRAIRIE VIEW CEMETERY. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be by invitation. Family and friends are welcome to participate in the Funeral Mass via livestream by logging into Medicine Hat Holy Family Church on Youtube.com at the above date and time. The interment can be viewed by logging in on www.saamis.com and joining the live webcast on Diane’s memorial page at the interment date and time. A virtual guest book is available on the livestream page for those participating remotely.
