Debbie Lyn Wilson of Medicine Hat passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on January 11th, 2024 at the age of 60 years, with family by her side. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Laurie Wilson and Faith Wilson; brother, Donny (Sarah) Ursulak, and family; God daughter, Shae-Lynn Scherer; special niece, Raegan Scherer (Kyle) and son, Kolt; honourary sister, Joelle Scherer (Derek); her beloved fur baby, Shadow; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Debbie was predeceased by her mother, Lyla Trekofski; father, Gordon Wilson; aunt, Eva Smith; her grandma, Florence “Annie” Trekofski; and fur babies, Cocoa Bean, Mya, Missy, and Sebastian. Debbie Grew up in Medicine Hat and attended Medicine Hat High School. She graduated from Western Christian College in Weyburn, SK. Debbie returned home to Medicine Hat after graduating. She loved children and had many babysitting jobs. She soon became a day home provider which she loved. Because of her love of animals, Debbie was also a pet sitter for family and close friends, which brought her so much pleasure. In her spare time, you could find Debbie crafting, reading, watching one of her hundreds of movies, and listening to music while doing a puzzle, if Shadow allowed her to. We can’t forget that Debbie also enjoyed drawing, painting, latch hooking, and diamond art. Debbie had many collections, which included movies, books, records, bells, and nutcrackers, just to name a few. Debbie had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats and dogs, and she had many special pets over the years. The love she received back from them helped her through her health struggles, a kidney transplant and breast cancer. Debbie had a big heart and was always willing to help others. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE Medicine Hat, AB, on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 1:55 pm, prior to the Funeral Service. The Funeral Service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating.
