Obituary for Dale Phillip Anhelher

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fidelis (Dale) Phillip Anhleher at the age of 85 years. Dale is survived by his wife, Clara; his two children, Kathy (Roy) Sutherland and William Anhelher (Keri); grandchildren, Percy, (Roxy), Crystal, Jeremy (Christine), Marshall and Casey; and great- grandchildren; , MacKenzie, Tyrell, Aaryn, Kaiden and Christopher; his sister, Betty; three sisters-in-law; Clara’s family; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Valentine and Katherine Anhelher; daughter, Dawn Marie; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Dale was born on May 29th, 1934, in Lancer, SK. He attended school there and then went on to work as a farm hand in the Lancer area. He moved to Medicine Hat in 1969 and worked as a mechanic’s assistant. During his retirement years he worked as a security guard for Wackenhut. Dale loved his children, and his grand and great-grandchildren. He would often take them fishing and camping. He loved to dance, play cards, and visit relatives.
Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5 on Monday, July 22nd at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 - 2nd Avenue NE MEDICINE HAT, AB T1A 5Z9, on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019, at 10:30 am with Father Francis Tran, Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Section at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Dale's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 220, 6223 – 2 Street SE, Calgary, AB T2H 1J5 or to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation, 200, 119 – 14th Street NW, Calgary, AB T1A 7L5.
