Arthur “Art” Garry Vandermeulen of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Monica Vandermeulen, passed away on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 at the age of 80 years. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Monica; children, Kerri Lawton, Kurtis Vandermeulen, and Krysta Vandermeulen; grandchildren, Calli Grisbrook and Taven Sandau; brother, Eugene (Josie) Vandermeulen; sister, Arlene Toth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Louise Vandermeulen; children, Kevin and Karen Vandermeulen, both in infancy; brother, Leonard Vandermeulen; and sister, Emma Vandermeulen. Art worked at Goodyear for over 34. After retiring, Art worked at Medicine Hat Golf Course for over 10 years. He was a Medicine Hat Tigers fan and enjoyed going to Maverick’s games too. He was also an avid golfer. Arthur loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, 1280 10 Ave SW, Medicine Hat on Monday, July 10th, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Those planning to attend should meet at the cemetery gates 10 minutes prior to service time. Following the graveside service, a time of fellowship will be held at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club, 947 Pigeon St NE, Medicine Hat, AB T1C 1R2.
