Obituary for Anne Ilene Drescher (Fregin)

Anne Drescher of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Tony Drescher, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the age of 79 years. Anne’s memory will forever be cherished by her family; daughter, Linda Copeman (Dave); daughter, Gail Lamb (Craig); son, Glen Drescher (Lucy); son, Brent Drescher; grandchildren, Steven Copeman (Deanna), Jennifer Copeman (Dustin), Janice Copeman (Tayler), Ryan Lamb (Tracy), Curtis Lamb (Twyla), Justin Drescher, and Sarah-Anne Drescher (Curtis). Anne also leaves to cherish her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Riley, Austin, Ethan, Kara, Cameron and Brinley; sisters, Connie Fisher, Janet Bradley and sister-in-law, Diana Fregin; as well as many other extended family and friends. Anne was predeceased by her parents Hugo and Jean Fregin; brother, Harvey Fregin; and sister, Marlene Gunderson. Anne was born and raised in Medicine Hat and was employed for over 27 years at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital until her retirement. Anne enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends camping, fishing, bowling, playing bocce and going to the movies. In her quiet time Anne enjoyed knitting and reading. Anne fought hard to overcome her health issues during her last two years of life. Her strength and perseverance will forever be remembered by all who knew her. The family would like to give special thanks to the many doctors, nurses and staff at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital as well as the staff at the Kidney Care Clinic and the wonderful and supportive staff at St. Joseph’s Home, Meadowlands Retirement Villa and the Good Samaritans Society. A Memorial Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to family and invited guests. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to participate via livestream by logging on to www.saamis.com and joining the live webcast on Anne’s memorial page at the above date and time. A virtual guest book is available on the livestream page for those participating remotely. Interment will follow at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Anne’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
