Obituary for Andree Rausch

1965 ~ Andree Rausch ~ 2023
Andree Horst Rausch passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at home with his family around him. Andree is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Kim; daughter, Jada; brother, Eden (Elissa); mother-in-law, Lynne (Ronnie); sister-in-law, Debbie (Johan); brothers-in-law, Rick (Jeannette), Keith (Rachelle) & Kirk (Alicia); as well as numerous nieces, nephews & family by choice. Special mention to our brother from another mother, Keven Sharp, thank you for always being there for us and also to Jada’s best friend, Serena for all her love and support. Andree was predeceased by his mother, Margaret; father, Johann; mother-in-law, Shirley and father-in-law, Leonard. Andree was born on May 21, 1965 in Medicine Hat to Margaret & Johann Rausch owners of Heidle Haus Inn. His favourite past time was spending time with his family and his furry companions, Angus, Howard, Mika and Cheshire; travelling and camping with the Burnett’s, and his love of music. He was incredibly proud of his daughter Jada and his love for her knew no bounds. When Jada wanted to ride the California Screaming rollercoaster, well, then he rode it with her – 6 times. Jada’s best friend Taylee also held a special place in his heart along with the many, many other children that had passed through their home throughout the years. Andree was an active member of the Medicine Hat community through his work at the Elk’s Lodge #412. He could often be found barbequing and shovelling the snow for the lodge. Some of the many fond memories of Andree included making walking sticks while camping, fossil hunting with the kids in Drumheller, with fossils that he planted, his hateful passion for stubbing his toe on the kitchen table and his many practical jokes. Andree & Johan were never allowed to sit together while visiting Montana’s due to their love of throwing peanuts at each other. Taylee wonders how it was that he always managed to have fish and chips (NOT her favourite) when she would be coming for supper. He also never waivered in support of his wife’s shenanigans. Andree had a passion for his family & many friends. This was evident with his open door policy to those in need. He also had a fondness for poker and was famous for cooking the best steak around. In 2017, Andree took a trip of a lifetime with his mom & brother, Eden to Germany. There he was able to see his parents birth places and meet many extended family. The family would like to express a special thank-you to Lisa, Jeff & their girls, Neil, Debbie, Johan, Miles, Tracy and Teresa, the Elks Lodge members for hosting the luncheon, as well as everyone who has offered or dropped off food & help during their time of grief. Funeral services will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, #1 Dunmore Rd SE on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow at Elks Lodge #412, 305 3rd St. NW from 12:30 – 2:30. Condolences may be sent through www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Andree Rausch.
