Obituary for Geraldine Maud Seward (Graham)

Geraldine Seward passed away on Wednesday, July 27th, 2016 at the age of 97 years. Geraldine leaves to cherish her memory her children, Walter (Joy) Seward, Wayne (Sheila) Seward, Verna Friesen, Elaine Wilson, Joanne (Don) Friesen, Carolyn (Bert) Hawkins, and Wesley (Joyce) Seward; twenty grandchildren; forty plus great-grandchildren; her sister, Marjorie Scott; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Geraldine was born in Kincaid, Saskatchewan on January 19th, 1919, the oldest of four children. She completed her Grade 12 in Kincaid, then attended Millar Memorial Bible Institute in Pambrun, Saskatchewan, where she met her husband, Clarence Seward. They were married on September 29th, 1940 and together farmed in Vanguard, Saskatchewan for the next 29 years, raising a family of seven children. In 1969 they moved to Kelowna, BC and enjoyed their years there gardening and picking fruit, visiting family and friends. They travelled extensively, visiting Europe, England, Ireland, Hawaii and most of the USA and Alaska, most of Canada, and Ecuador. Geraldine was an active participant in church, wherever she lived, serving as Sunday School teacher, Bible Study leader, and on the executive of Women's Ministries. In 2003, due to failing health, Clarence and Geraldine moved to Alberta to be close to family. Geraldine had a great love for her Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed. As an expression of sympathy, those wishing to remember Geraldine Seward my do so with a gift to Millar College of the Bible, Box 25, Pambrun, Saskatchewan, S0N 1W0.
