Saamis Memorial Christmas Legacy Angel Tree
For many families, Christmas is a time of family celebration. It is also a time to cherish the memories of a loved one who has passed away. To help families accomplish this, Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, Crematorium and Reception Centre annually offers a beautiful Holiday tribute. Each year, Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel dedicates a Christmas tree in its facility to the memory of those who have passed away in the Medicine Hat area.
Families who have lost a loved one in the previous year, regardless of where the funeral arrangements were made, are welcome to come in and select an angel ornament which has been placed on the Saamis Memorial Christmas Tree in memory of their loved ones. Local resident, Antonio Armstrong creates each exquisite angel individually. He is proudly carrying on this tradition started by his parents.
A complete listing of individuals who have passed away between November 1st, 2015 and October 31st, 2016 will also appear in the Medicine Hat News, along with an invitation to stop by and receive an angel on Saturday, December 10th, 2016 and Sunday, December 11th, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Each family will be given a “remembrance” angel and are invited to stay for a visit and a cup of hot cider. However, angels are available during office hours until January 4th, 2017.
Additional angels can be purchased and all proceeds will be donated to the Medicine Hat Santa Claus Fund. Last year the angels raised over $3545.00 which was donated to this year’s Santa Claus Fund.
Each year the generosity of the community has seen this donation grow. The Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund and Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel thank you.
