Saamis Creekside Reception Venue & Event Centre
At Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, we aim to constantly serve the Medicine Hat community and keep it vibrant year round. This past year has seen some exciting expansions being made to our facility. One of the major additions made to our space is the Saamis Creekside Centre, a multipurpose event centre constructed in 2013. When the reception facility first opened in March of that year, the space was ideally set to accommodate small, come and go funeral luncheons or memorial services. However, the idea was to also provide a community, reception and events centre for Medicine Hat. Presently, during the week we have three non-profit groups meeting in the evening and have had a number of family dinners for members of the community whose homes are not large enough to accommodate big gatherings.
Our vision for this reception area was to invite the families of Medicine Hat to see it as their own. Whether it is for wedding ceremony, wedding reception, family gathering or any other large event, our space is a perfect fit. With our facility located conveniently right off Kingsway Avenue, Saamis Creekside Reception Venue & Event Centre is the perfect spot for your next event. Offering both indoor and outdoor space with our large east side patio, we can help you plan the perfect gathering. The Saamis Creekside Centre has a home-like atmosphere and can accommodate up to 60 for more formal sit-down occasions, and 70-80 for a more relaxed, casual reception atmosphere. As proud members of this community, we thought it was only natural that we built a reception area that brought people together. With many possible uses outside of funeral services, the Saamis Creekside Centre is also a great venue for a celebration of life or other personalized memorial services. In times of mourning and times of celebration, there is nothing more important than being around those close to you. It was a natural next step for us to provide a space where people could come together for any type of event, not just when someone is lost.
The layout of the venue has been designed with guests in mind. We offer a large amount of seating and tables for guests to gather around. At the same time, people can move freely around the venue with ease. The venue is wheelchair accessible so we can accommodate all guests. For most of our events, we are unable to alter the set-up of the venue. If you are hosting a luncheon, we do offer other layout options that work better for this type of event. Groups can feel free to decorate the space as they wish for their event.
The venue comes equipped with modern technologies to meet your needs. This includes a large television which can be used to play slideshows and show videos to your guests. It comes equipped with a DVD player to play your media. We also have a large Bluetooth speaker that can be used to play music during your event.
If you are in need of a caterer, we work closely with several companies and offer a selection book with different options to browse through. If you are interested in using another caterer, we simply ask that they come from a licensed catering company or kitchen
