Obituary for Albert Charles Jacka

Mr. Albert Charles Jacka, beloved husband of Gayle Jacka of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at the age of 73 years. Albert is also survived by his two daughters, Tracy Burzminski, and Melissa (Shawn) Mackinnon; five grandchildren, Brooklyn, Nolan, Keelan, [and their father, Darren Burzminski], Cole (Kirsten Rogerson), and Kayla. Albert was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Phyllis. Albert was born in Calgary, Alberta on January 2nd, 1945. His parents moved to Medicine Hat when he was 2 years old and Medicine Hat was home from that day forward. At age 20, Albert became employed with the City of Medicine Hat Power Plant where he worked for 35 years. He began his career as a Steam Engineer and later became a Journeyman Electrician until his retirement in 2000. On July 12th, 1968 Albert married Gayle and together they raised their two daughters. Albert enjoyed curling at a younger age, hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, and tinkering in his garage. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, always asking his grandkids about their bowling, golf, ringette, basketball or hockey games. He was a selfless man and would always lend a hand to anyone and everyone who needed it. Albert will be remembered for his wacky sense of humour, his boisterous laugh and his gift of gab.
