My leader!

It was a pleasure to work for Garth as the Chief of Police.  Our conversations were always about how we could make the City safer for everyone, rich or poor.  Garth had a great respect for the Police Service, and this was so evident for all citizens. 

I had a very informative conversation with Garth before I ran for Mayor.  As usual, he said I was very well suited for such a task because I knew the culture of the City and the residents.  His positive comments were encouraging and I learned that he was always this positive with people he knew.  I always listened attentively to his views before, during and after my elections to succeed him as Mayor.  His leadership with me, with his church, the Rotary club, the 24 hour border initiative, and so many other visitions he had about the potential for the City and the whole region was inspiring to everyone he spoke to.  

Sanja and I send our deepest sympathies to Maryanne and the Vallely family as we thank Garth and you for all you have done to improve the quality of life for everyone!  His leadership will be missed and we now can state that we have met one of the best leader in Western Canada.  Medicine Hat is the best City, in the best Province, in the best Country in the World!
