Margaret Cavan (Baumbach)
Margaret Cavan of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Lionel Cavan, passed away on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at the age of 99 years. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Elaine Nieman; six grandchildren, Nicole (Brad) Ambrosi, Wendy (Shawn) Weiss, Heather Nieman, Lance (Lana) Cavan, Jennifer Cavan, and Dan (Erin) Cavan; ten great-grandchildren, Justis, Jarod, Mackenzie, Lacie, Rayna, Ryder, Beau, Brenna, Kinley, and Hoyt; one sister, Anne Zahn; one daughter-in-law, Colleen Cavan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Lionel Cavan; her son, Warren Cavan; her parents, Robert and Caroline Baumbach; her son-in-law, Mick Nieman; as well as numerous siblings. Margaret was born and raised in Medicine Hat. She worked at various jobs until marrying Lionel on September 5th, 1939. They lived in Dunmore for twelve years before moving to the Cavan Ranch where they remained until 1996. Margaret was a very spunky lady and a typical, old-time rancher’s wife…if you were there at mealtime you were fed. She loved gardening, flowers, golfing, bowling, knitting, and was a member of the Hillbilly Band. Margaret will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
