Mary Elizabeth Gernack (nee Ivany), beloved wife of Dan Gernack of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Mary also leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters and their families, Lynda (Glen) Schmolke and Joanne (Russell) Hope; four grandchildren, Andrea Hope, Jason (Courtney) Hope, Shalon (Mark) Parsons and Derek (Brielle) Schmolke; two great grandchildren, Jordyn Parsons and Owen Parsons; as well as a great grand baby on the way; one brother, Ernie Ivany; one sister, Frances White; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Gary Wickwire in 2014; three brothers, Alex Ivany Jr, Frank Ivany and Johnny Ivany; as well as her parents, Alex and Mary Ivany. Mary was a good homemaker and she loved to travel with Hawaii being a favourite spot. She also loved Creston, BC. As per Mary's request, no formal funeral services will be held. A private graveside service will be held a later date.
